Oh man, where do we start with Parkside? It is one of those neighborhoods when people move from a house in Parkside, they move to ANOTHER house in Parkside. Ardsley Park borders Parkside on the west side, Daffin Park on the north side, Bee Road on the east and 52nd Street on the south. It is a pretty small neighborhood comprising the 1100-1500 blocks Washington Ave and 48th-50th Streets.
Where the locals go to eat:
Chirya’s is just a quick jaunt up Victory Drive— the BEST Thai food in town. You have to try the Pad Thai, Pho, Thai Fried Rice, Tom Yum Soup, and, and…. it’s all great. The servers are super friendly, and if you hear laughter coming from the kitchen, that is Chirya, she is the owner, an incredible host and has an infectious smile. It is a true pleasure to dine there!
Shopping and Attractions:
Daffin Park and historic Grayson Stadium are walking distance to Parkside. If you love baseball/entertainment, you can watch the fun-loving Savannah Bananas play at Grayson Stadium in the summer. Tickets are affordable but sell out quick!
Parkside residents can easily walk/bike to the Whole Foods shopping center where you will find Petsmart, Zoes Kitchen, Chipotle, Nothing Bundt Cakes and across the street is Floor and Decor, IHOP and Orange Theory.
Parkside is craftsman bungalow central! Most of the homes were built in the 20’s and 30’s and are dripping with historic charm. A lot of the homes have front porches, and large shady trees. The interiors are
